If anyone were to ask me where I have enjoyed the best tapas of my life, I’d hands down say Barcelona. Yes, I’ve been to other parts of Spain…and, yes, my declaration still stands. This city is phenomenal for food.
One of my absolute MUSTS to visit every time I go is Tapas 24 in the Eixample neighborhood of Barcelona. You simply can’t go wrong. And like anyone who has found their holy grail for tapas, it’s irresistible to not get a few of the same things every time because they are just too good. Behold…
The quality of food here is off the charts and that’s not a surprise. It’s run by Carles Abellan, a Catalonian chef, who trained under none other than Ferran Adrià at his famed three Michellin star restaurant elBulli. Every day there are specials. Get one or three or five. Like these quail wings…or this puréed cabbage dish with crispy pork and pork jus.
And on their standard menu there are also some standout dishes like their famed Bikini sandwich which is essentially the fanciest and most delicious grilled cheese I have ever had. Perfectly toasted, crustless white bread, black truffle, jamón ibércio, and gooey manchego cheese. I can’t stop salivating. Other favorites include their perfectly simple, crisp and fresh pan con tomate, their jamón croquettes, their bomba (friend potato ball stuffed with meat)…I could go on an on. Just get there already (and take me with you)!

Couldn’t. Agree. More. This is the most amazing tapas place I have ever eaten at, and I have had plenty of my fair share. I recommend this place to everyone who heads to Barcelona and everyone always loves it too. Go and enjoy!
